B&G’s Charity Foundation Don’t forget, we have the foundation set up and waiting for any contributions you wish to make.  No Amount is too little or too small.  Every bit is so helpful.  Many Thanks!!
Well Christmas will be upon us before we know it.  There is good and bad that comes with this season.        Christians are preparing to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.  It is a time to be thankful for our blessings, not the least of which is to know that we just went through an election where our nation’s population split almost exactly in half on how they wanted to see our country governed.   Yet by a majority of around 2% we had a peaceful election and the 48% of losers go on with their lives in peace…unlike much of the world where they would have been burning and rioting.   So when you pause to give thanks to your savior, remember to thank Him for allowing you to be in the greatest nation on this planet.       Unfortunately there is a dark side to the Christmas Season, and that is that there are folks out there who want to take advantage of the season by breaking the law and stealing from others.  And our restaurants make good targets…especially if we do not pay attention to our cash handling and safety procedures.       So let’s please make sure that we operate safely: Keep the back door locked and never open after dark. Never let anyone in the restaurant after the doors have been locked. Drop bills in the drop boxes and then into the safe as soon as reasonable. Know where the panic buttons are, and press them if something looks odd.      Please help our customers…each year someone leaves a package or purse or credit card in one of our restaurants.  Pick it up and bring it to the office immediately and tell your MIC.  Remember the cameras see all, if a customer claims they left something…look at the film and see if we can help them.       From my family to yours….we wish each of you a Blessed, Joyous and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.   Gregory J. Hamer
THE ESSENCE OF SUCCESS Successful is the person who has lived well, laughed often and loved much, who has gained the respect of others, who leaves the world better than they found it, who has never lacked appreciation for the earth’s beauty, who never fails to look for the best in others or give the best of themselves.

B & G is Happy to Announce Taco Bell # 026772 Slidell, Louisiana Grand Opening October 22nd
How to keep yourself and your coworkers safe at work 90% of robberies at restaurants are inside jobs, meaning someone that currently works, or has worked recently at the restaurant is involved each time there is a robbery at a restaurant.  We have a NO CELL PHONE policy while working not only to help people focus on serving customers, it is also for the safety of the rest of the team, many times restaurant robberies are carried out while someone in the store is on a cell phone with the robbers helping coordinating the robbery. Smart safes have been installed at each restaurant to lower the risk of robberies.  Drop boxes have been installed at each restaurant to lower the risk of robberies. Sophisticated camera and alarm systems have been installed at each restaurant to lower the risk of robberies. We have a DO NOT OPEN BACK DOOR AFTER DARK policy installed to lower the risk of robberies. With all of the things that have been done to help lower the risks of the restaurant being robbed, nothing does any good unless the people in the store follow the correct procedures. Use the drop boxes, keeping all cash drawers under $200 at all times.  Be aware of your surroundings; if you notice something suspicious immediately report it to manager on duty so everyone can be aware and on alert. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT OPENING THE BACK DOOR AFTER DARK.  Even thinking about it is a violation of policy. And above all, be aware of your surroundings, if you see something that make you suspicious, share it with your team so you can all work together to protect each other. Have a safe and happy holiday season, and hoping for a Happy New Year for everyone. Gregory J. Hamer, Jr
