Happy Birthday to You  ! Happy Birthday to You  ! October Birthdays
Colonel Taco
I want to make everyone aware of something really sad that happened to one of our team members last week.  The young lady was arrested and charged, according to the New Orleans news sources, with 29 counts of wire fraud.  She, along with some other folks, was part of  a conspiracy to scan credit cards with a small machine that copied the information off of a credit card.  Customers who found their cards being charged without their knowledge complained to their banks.  The banks in turn complained to the Secret Service and FBI who started an investigation.  Once the investigation led back to one of our restaurants, we were notified and we cooperated with the authorities while enough evidence was gathered for the police to make an arrest. Wire fraud is a Federal offence and involves several Federal agencies.  Federal crimes have no time off for good behavior.  Whatever you are sentenced to, you serve; 29 counts could mean that the young lady in question might be a much older lady when she finishes her sentence, if convicted. When a customer presents a credit card for payment, we should immediately make the charge and return the card.  There is never an excuse to walk off with a customer’s credit card.  If you see anyone handling a credit card…other than immediately swiping it and handing it back, please contact your RGM. The video cameras in our restaurants are running all the time…they are very useful to the police when gathering evidence for a crime.  We should all be aware that the Federal Government is aggressively attacking credit card crimes.  Credit card theftis not a slap on the wrist anymore, people are going to jail. Please don’t let anyone talk you into helping them steal from our customers.  The employees in our restaurants will be the ones on the video.  Don’t listen to anyone who might try and convince you that only the banks will lose with credit card fraud.  The truth is that the authorities realize how massive credit card crime has become, and they are using all their resources to stop it. I know that the vast majority of our team members want to work in a crime free restaurant.  We all need to remain alert when we see something that does not look right and report it to your RGM, AC, or call the office and ask for Human Resources.  Gregory J. Hamer

Profile of a Champion       Khadija Williams is a newly promoted shift leader in Houma at the KT. Khadija moved to Houma from Texas about a year ago and started working as a part time cashier during her junior year of high school. Khadija impressed management so much as a new team member, it was very clear that she would be a great candidate for management.  The problem was that she was only 17 and could not be promoted until she became 18.  Khadija was approached about getting into management and started training so that when she reached 18, she would be ready for the promotion. She did her Learning Zone and took every opportunity possible to learn as much as she could. Khadija is a senior at HLB High School and is in the work/study program. She is interested in management and once she graduates from high school she wants to continue her education and get a business degree.       Khadija loves working with the team and loves the fast pace of working in the fast food industry. Being in management gives her valuable experience that helps her understand and relate to her business classes at school. Khadija has such great passion to serve the guest and is a great example to others that may be interested in moving up into management Khadija has great potential in this company and the sky is the limit for her.        When Khadija is not working, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and hanging out with friends.   B & G is happy to have you on our TEAM !!!
