Well the schools are back in session, summer is about gone and our days will start getting shorter.   At our restaurants things tend to slow down a little in sales and we are a little less busy.  It is a great time for all of us to refresh ourselves and make sure we are up to date on our training.      We are always looking for more folks in management, and we always prefer to promote from within our restaurants first, within our company second and only then to go outside to staff our management teams. Serious folks who want more responsibility are what we are looking for.  Just because your restaurant is fully staffed does not mean we do not have a place for you in management.  Talk to your Restaurant Manager or your Area Coach, they can help you along the path to more responsibility and higher pay.       Remember we are always looking for good employees also.  If you have a friend or relative that you believe would make a good employee for B & G, please make a recommendation for them to join us and let your RGM know.  If we cannot use them at your restaurant, surely we can use them at another of our restaurants.  We want to help all of our employees with their career choice, if you feel you have what it takes…talk to your RGM, the road to higher pay starts with you taking the first step and letting us know you are interested.       In my tours I have seen a lot of fast, clean, friendly restaurants…that is what keeps our customers coming back.  Please keep it up. “ Together we can be the best….”  Till next month,   Greg Hamer Sr.
Congratulations Team 24526 Leesville for scoring a GREEN on their unannounced CORE visit on 7/13/12.  This was the first GREEN scored by B&G on the new unannounced Taco Bell audit process.
Through the challenges of any transition you will find a few that maneuver the course of going from one place to another (transitioning from Corp to B&G Foods) with a laser like focus, and Antonio Valdez and the Wallisville Team did just that! The Team has moved to become a leader in the Market accepting new targets, and creating new heights to which one can perform.    I know Antonio and his Team has been a great support to Augusto Chaves and the “SWAT” Team as well…and through everyone’s partnership/team work, the “SWAT” team continues to rival all for the top spot in B&G Foods.     I want to personally “THANK” Antonio Valdez and the Walliville Team…it is a pleasure and honor to work with such a great Partner!  Larry Poore, VP Texas Operations
Brian Spears, Maria Salinas, Lauren Luna, Tasha Runnels, Maria Rivera, Edith Tello, Adrian Cisneros, and Antonio Valdes, RGM.

Paperless Online Hiring Procedure being rolled out in B&G     As some of you already know, but most of you will be introduced to within the next few months, B&G is rolling out a paperless, online, hiring procedure called Efficient Hire.  With this new process we will no longer have the paper hiring packets; everything will be done on computer with e-signatures, which gets rid of all the pesky paper in the restaurants leaving everything less cluttered and neat.  All of the employee’s hiring information will now be stored electronically on a database that can be accessed by management from the computer.  All tax credits, background checks, and E-verifications are also in this process, all those items are covered so nothing needs to be printed out and signed, and everything is done on the computer electronically.  The system has proved to work well once management becomes comfortable with the process.  Although this is a totally different way of completing the hiring process, it is cutting edge and is reducing paper waste and cost hence helping B&G become a more environmentally friendly company.     Gregory Hamer, Jr
Laptops in all of your stores, time to boost your LZ IQ! As of today all 82 B&G restaurants have had a laptop installed in your store.  B&G has gone out and purchased these laptops to invest in our team members Learning Zone education.  We want to make it as easy as possible for every B&G team member to complete all the Learning Zone training that the system has to offer.  A better trained person not only provides better service for our customers but also is a better fellow employee which helps improve team work amongst the restaurant teams making everyone’s day more enjoyable at the restaurant.  B&G’s Learning Zone goal is to be at 80%, we still have a way to go to get there but we have made good progress in the last several months.  Everyone should help motivate each other to push your entire teams to complete and stay current on all Learning Zone objectives, if you do this as a team, you will achieve the goal of 80% helping the company as a whole lead our fellow Taco Bell/KFC operators in the Learning Zone category.  Studies have shown that if a restaurant achieves 80% Learning Zone certification, they are 3% higher in Voice of Champions (VOC)/ Recommend a Friend (RAF) scores and  1% higher in sales growth than stores that achieve a lower Learning Zone %.
